Do I need a Will?

If you die without having made a Will, you die intestate. Yes, it’s as scary as it sounds. Dying intestate means you have no say about how and to whom your assets (estate) will be divided up and distributed, or about who is in charge of making the important decisions about your estate. Instead, these decisions will be made by Government according to State laws.

When you make a valid Will, you are in charge. You can choose someone you trust to make all the big decisions when you are gone. You can also choose exactly how your estate is divided up and passed to your loved ones. You don’t have this control without a Will.  Dying without a Will also means the process to settle your estate is likely to be much longer and more expensive. Why leave your loved ones with that burden?

Can I make a Will myself? Do I really need a lawyer?

You do not need a lawyer to prepare your Will. But you wouldn’t do electrical work just because you saw some Youtube videos. It’s sometimes best to leave things to experts. A Last Will and Testament is a technical document. It’s important to get it right. Get it wrong and a visit (or several) to the Supreme Court may be needed, if it can even be fixed at all.

I can’t afford a lawyer!

How much will it cost me? Not much when you consider the value in protecting and ensuring your assets (estate) is secure for your loved ones. We offer fixed pricing for all standard Wills, call now to make an appointment.
